Typically all personal blogs contain an about me section so I thought I’d write one myself.
Well, I’m Daniel, I’m currently 23 and living in Wales.
I’m doing a degree in Computer Science in College and will be attending my third year soon, I’m hoping to get a good enough grade to meet the requirements of either a Masters or a PHD in Swansea or Cardiff University.
I’ve since graduated from my degree and am ever so happy that I did it. Unfortunately due to funding I don’t think I’ll be attending a masters or PHD anytime soon, the cost is just too much.
My main interests in computers is Computer Security, Networking and Website design, I typically switch between all three of these things, which makes it a bit of a hassle but I do really enjoy it. I’d say that computer security is my main interest even though I’ve been doing website design and administration for longer.
As it stands, I’m mainly into computing with a large love of music, I’m unable to play any instruments but I have a wide verity of musical taste from smooth Jazz to Drum and Bass, but I do mainly enjoy either Drum and Bass or Heavy metal.
On top of my love for computing and music, I am a fan of swimming, I thought I needed to take up some form of exercise and felt that swimming was pretty good. I actually enjoy it and try to go as much as I possibly can, which is typically 3/4 times a week, swimming a mile each session, which I should think of maybe extending. I’ve also since done the C25K running program and participated in the Cardiff half marathon, which was a blast. I’ve since stopped running but plan on starting again.
I’m currently holding down a full time job in my local swimming pool as a life guard and swimming instructor, I do enjoy working there and would like to pick up more hours, but it seems that I should really spend most of my time studying and learning the required material for my degree.
I’m not much of a reader but I am trying to change that, I do have a list of books that I would be interested in reading, with a large selection of educational books, but I have read The Catcher In The Rye, which I really enjoyed.
Well this is pretty much it for me and I’ll hopefully add some extra information later, as I get into more things.
